My name is Joe Kochevar, and I'm a Propulsion Engineer with Blue Origin. I've been with Blue since I graduated in 2016 with my BS in Mechanical Engineering from Olin College of Engineering. While I've worked on a bunch of different projects during my time at Blue Origin, I specialize in mechanical design and drafting, configuration management, and large assembly management. 

Like many, my obsession with Mechanical Engineering began under the hood of a car. For me it was my dad's Oldsmobile once I was tall enough to see over the grill. As an adult, I also spend much of my free time working with my 3d printer, a heavily-modified Creality CR-10.

I have a passion for innovation, and am always looking for new ways to be a better engineer. I enjoy learning, new technology, exploration, and problem solving: a combination that makes most work in the engineering world a pleasure. That being said, my favorite moment in any project is the discovery of a deceptively simple solution to an endlessly complex problem. In every situation, I am looking for the place where my work is most needed and love working where I can make a tangible impact as quickly as possible.
